POST-AND-PRESENT ACTIVITY. YOU’RE A KEEPER: Fishing for Faithful Friends. Help youth choose friends who are faithful in keeping God’s commandments and who are trustworthy. They are not judgmental, bullying those who need encouragement. They will learn to stand for right and seek the Spirit in choosing good friends and being a good friend. They can also be a good “fish”-ionary, sharing the gospel.

POST-AND-PRESENT
ACTIVITY: You’re a Keeper! Fishing For Faithful Friends
OBJECTIVE: Help youth choose friends that are faithful in keeping God’s commandments and who are trustworthy.
TO MAKE:
1. Print in color or color and cut out images and word-strips.
2. Glue word-strips to the backs of fish and starfish. BAD friend decisions are glued to backs of FROWNING fish and GOOD friend decisions are glued to the backs of SMILING fish.
3. Laminate.
4. Make a fishing pole with a string attached to a stick and a paper clip tied to the string.
ACTIVITY – TO SET UP AND POST: Post the sign “You’re a Keeper! Fishing for faithful friends” sign on the board and fish as shown. Add a string to attach keeper fish once they are caught. Add eight paper clips to the string to attach fish. See Tabletop Fishing Option* (#1 below).

Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Everyone needs good and true friends. They will be a great strength and blessing to you. They will influence how you think and act, and even help determine the person you will become. They will help you be a better person and will make it easier for you to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. Choose friends who share your values so you can strengthen and encourage each other in living high standards.
To have good friends, be a good friend. Show genuine interest in others; smile and let them know you care about them. Treat everyone with kindness and respect, and refrain from judging and criticizing those around you. Do not participate in any form of bullying. Make a special effort to be a friend to those who are shy or lonely, have special needs, or do not feel included.
As you seek to be a friend to others, do not compromise your standards. If your friends urge you to do things that are wrong, be the one to stand for the right, even if you stand alone. You may need to find other friends who will support you in keeping the commandments. Seek the guidance of the Holy Ghost as you make these choices.

OBJETIVO: Ayudar a los jóvenes a aprender estos conceptos: “Tener buenos amigos me ayudará a escoger lo justo”.
PARA HACER:
1. Imprima en color o en negro y blanco y corte las imágenes y las tiras de texto.
2. Pegue las tiras de palabras atras de los pescados y de estrellas de mar. Las decisiones MALAS del amigo se pegan atras de los pescados ceñudo y las decisiones BUENAS del amigo se pegan atras de los pescados SONRIENTES.
3. Laminado.
4. Haga una caña de pescar con una cuerda unida a un palo y un clip de papel atado a la cuerda.
ACTIVIDAD
PARA CONFIGURAR Y PUBLICAR: Coloque el letrero “USTED ES UN GUARDIÁN! Pesca para los amigos fieles” en el tablero y pesque como se muestra. Agrega una cuerda para poner a los pescadores una vez que son atrapado. Agregue ocho clips a la cuerda para pegar los peces. Vea la Opción de Pesca de Mesa * (# 1 abajo).
ANDA A PESCAR:
1. Haga que los jóvenes lanzen su línea de pescar sobre un objeto como un piano, podio o otro objeto. Un líder o joven está detrás y remolcadores en la línea una vez que el pez se atrapo de papel a la cuerda.
* OPCIÓN – Pesca sobre la mesa: Usted necesitará atar los imanes a los pescados así que el clip de papel puede agarrar el pescado.

ANDA A PESCAR . . .
- Pida a los jóvenes que lean la parte de atrás de sus peces en voz alta y decidan qué hacer de la siguiente manera:
CAPTURA # 1 Si se captura una “ESTRELLA” DE MAR, lea y diga por qué le gusta esa calidad en un amigo y coloque las estrellas de mar en el pizzaron o un póster (como se muestra).
CAPTURA # 2: Para otros peces que captan, lea la situación y decida ES ESTE AMIGO UN “GUARDA” O UNA ” MANTENER Y LIBERAR”. Los guardianes son recortados en papel a la cuerda y otros son tirados devuelta (puesta abajo del tablero como se indica)
- Al final, hable con los jóvenes acerca de cómo los peces que tiraron devuelta no son felices peces – tomaron decisiones de amistad pobres. Los MANTENIENTES en la parte superior están sonriendo.
IDEA PARA APERITIVOS: Bueno-Pescado (forma) Galletas. Diga a los jóvenes que hay un montón de buenos pescados / amigos en el mar. Usted sólo tiene que seguir nadando más allá de los peces malos para encontrar peces buenos de amigos.
