YOUTH LESSON ACTIVITY. FOLLOW RIGHTEOUS LEADERS Trust-and-Tell Game. Youth can learn to trust in the Lord as they obey His commandments with this game. They can read temptations they may face or name situations of their own and TELL WHAT A TRUSTED RIGHTEOUS LEADER would advise them to do in that situation.

Follow Righteous Leaders (Trust-and-Tell GAME)
OBJECTIVE: To teach the children the value of trusting in the Lord as they obey His commandments.
ACTIVITY: Follow Righteous Leaders Trust-and-Tell game
Help youth learn to trust and follow righteous leaders by playing the game according to the rules found in the activity (and below). Option: Cut off the rules and give them to youth as a worksheet, asking them to fill in the blanks to answer after “Righteous Leader Says.”
GAME RULES.
1. Players stand in a circle.
2. Toss the bag to a person standing in the circle.
3. That person draws a CTR Challenge wordstrip out of the bag and reads it aloud. This is a temptation we might face. Option: Instead of drawing a wordstrip, name a tempting situation on your own.
4. The player then tells others what a trusted leader would ask you to do. Example: “Asked to smoke a cigarette.” A righteous leader says: “Obey the Word of Wisdom.”
TO MAKE Print and cut out the Follow Righteous Leaders Trust-and-Tell game label and word-strips and a plastic storage bag for each child.
To make a beanbag fill a zip-close sandwich bag with beans and close the bag. Place a second bag over the beanbag so the first bag won’t break. Enclose the label, rules, and word-strips in a separate bag.
THOUGHT TREAT: School of Fish Follow-the-Leader Snacks. Serve fish crackers or fish gummy candy and tell children that these fish are following their leader. We too follow our leaders. We can know who we should follow by listening to the still small voice of the Holy Ghost. This special guide will always be there to show us the way if we continue to keep the commandments.
