“There are three separate personages in the Godhead: God, the Eternal Father; His Son, Jesus Christ; and the Holy Ghost. The Father and the Son have tangible, glorified bodies of flesh and bone, and the Holy Ghost is a personage of spirit (see D&C 130:22–23). Spotlight ideas from President Hinckley’s testimony*: “In These Three I Believe,” as you give youth a fan describing the nature of each member of the Godhead, they can write their testimony of each on the fan, answering the questions. TESTIMONY MEETING – FOCUS “THE GODHEAD”: Gather youth to have a share your testimony where all can spontaneously bear witness of the personal experiences they have had with prayer, scripture reading, practicing gospel principles that tell that God lives that Heavenly Father is the father of our spirits and Jesus Christ is our creator under the direction of Heavenly Father. He is our brother in spirit-as He is the only begotten Son of the Father. The Holy Ghost is a member of the Godhead helping us all to know God’s will for us. Testify celestial goals to follow God’s plan and to live with all three personages forever. Through the Atonement this is possible.
GODHEAD SPOTLIGHT: Tell the youth that when they learn about Jesus Christ they learn about Heavenly Father and the Holy Ghost. Have a spotlight having three youth or youth leaders tell about the members of the Godhead as three separate beings with the same purpose (John 17:20-23).
MISSING PERSONAGE: Ask youth to write on slips of paper what they would miss if they did not have a certain member of the Godhead, assigning three or more to each personage. If they desire their comments read, they can place them in a container to share. Quote Mark 12:30: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
