Little LESSON LIFESAVER Activity

Home Sweet Home (Job Jar with Jobs)

OBJECTIVE:
Encourage children to feel gratitude for their home and to help take care of it.

CRAFT ACTIVITY – Home Sweet Home – Job Jar with Jobs
1. Print or copy the activity. To make Job jar with Jobs, tape a plastic bag in front of the jar with double-stick tape or rubber-cement glue. Then enclose jobs and treats.
2. Job jar will help children learn ways they can do their jobs to take care of their home. Place reward treats (see below) that they can draw and eat to remind them that helping at home is really neat.

THOUGHT TREAT: Reward treats—Supply six treats to place in a bag to whet their appetite for a job well done. Tell the children that they are to be honest and not eat a piece of candy until one of the jobs found in the job jar is done.

SINGING for the Sunbeam Lesson 31 – I Am Thankful for My Home: Sing “A Happy Family,” “When We’re Helping,” and “Quickly I’ll Obey” (Children’s Songbook, 198, 197).
