POST-AND-PRESENT Activity:
Created in God’s Image (Brain-Storm Block)

YOUTH can teach this lesson to children.
Objective: Help children/youth learn ways they can take care of their bodies as they toss the cube.

ACTIVITY: Have children/youth peer into a mirror to identify their image and how they were created in the image of God. He has eyes, ears, mouth, mind, hands, and feet that help Him work and be happy.

  1. $3.50 POST-AND-PRESENT Activity for Come Follow Me – Primary and Home (family home evening), Sunday School, Seminary
HOVER OVER or ZOOM IN (to view)

Tell children/youth we were created in God’s image and then read Genesis 1:27, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

  2. Tell children/youth to use this Brain-Storm Block to get their brains thinking about ideas. Take turns rolling this block to show parts of your image and tell how God wants you to take care of this part of your body.
  3. If time allows, toss block again and tell how you can use this part of your image to do good, to keep God’s commandments, and to be happy

THOUGHT TREAT:  Body Cookie. Create a gingerbread or sugar cookie cut-outs to bake and frost. Talk about the importance of each body part as you eat the cookie. You could even eat the cookie while playing the Brain-Storm Block activity (above).
