POST-AND-PRESENT Activity
Jesus Is My Light (Choose the Right Light Show)

OBJECTIVE: Help youth learn ways Jesus taught us to choose the right by showing His light to the world. We can follow His light by following His example and living as He did.

TO MAKE:
1. Print (color) and cut out the sign parts, lights, and stories of Jesus. Glue situations on the back of the matching lights. Laminate

ACTIVITY:
1. Post the picture of Jesus and have youth read, “Jesus Christ is my light and teaches me to choose the right” (D&C 4:1-2).
2. Talk to them about how Heavenly Father sent His Son Jesus Christ to be the light and life of the world to teach us how to live Heavenly Father’s commandments. We can light the way for others by following His light. We can learn of Jesus’ life, an example for us to follow.

    Talk about how we can follow His light as shown on the Light Show: Forgiving, kindness, gratitude, love, sharing, prayer, obedience, and service. He taught us the right way to live and be happy. This way is to choose the right every day.

THOUGHT TREAT: Candle Cookie. Cut out sugar cookie dough into a candle shape, and bake and frost the cookie. Tell the youth that choosing the right way is the way Jesus would want you to show your light. We can ask before every choice, “What Would Jesus Do?” (WWJD). Then follow His light.
