TO FIND LESSON: Present Lesson 16 – Primary 5 Manual – Doctrine and Covenants-Church History: The Saints Gather to Kirtland, Ohio
OBJECTIVE: To help youth desire to strengthen the feelings of unity and love within their families and within their Primary or teen/youth class.
LESSON-MATCH ACTIVITY: Review attention activity, discussion and application question 7, and enrichment activity 1 in the manual for which the following activity illustrates.
ACTIVITY: Woven-Heart Message
This woven heart will help youth think of ways they can inspire love and unity at church and at home (and at school as well).
TO MAKE: Print or copy and color the pattern for each youth on cardstock paper. Cut out heart halves and cut along thin lines to weave halves together. Weave and glue ends so heart will not separate. As youth weave, have them think of ways they can “weave” in and out of situations at church, home, and school and inspire love and unity. Talk about sticky situations where you would have to try extra hard to create unity and love.
THOUGHT TREAT (when appropriate): Heart-Shaped Candies or Cookies.
