TO PLAY: Tell youth, “We are going to play a game called Trail to Holy Ghost Town. Let’s imagine we are going to a special town filled with good people who choose the right. They listen to the promptings of the Holy Ghost, which makes this town a happy town. Let’s imagine that those who do wrong actions and do not repent of these actions go to Death Valley, a place where the Holy Ghost cannot dwell. The first team to get to Holy Ghost Town wins the game!”

  1. Divide players into two teams and give each team a Boot marker to place on the Dynamite/Start position on the board. Use double-stick tape to keep markers on the board.
  2. Flip a coin to determine which team goes first.
  3. Teams take turns rolling a die and moving that number of rocks along the trail, following “move forward” or “move backward” signs on rocks.
  4. When players land on Trail Mix rock, draw a situation from the Trail Mix container, read the situation, and move forward and backward as indicated on the card. Tape the card to the board or use magnets to mount it.
  5. If you land on Death Valley, roll the dice on your next turn to get back on the trail.
