ACTIVITY DAYS PLANNER

Healthy Food Fun (learn to make good food choices)
1. Print a complete Wrong Choice Wilma Card Game, and play the game (see rules next to the Wrong Choice Wilma card).

2. Print the Tic-Tac-Toe-In-the-Know Diet Game, and play the game as you record your diet moves for one week.
3. Learn the difference between healthy food and junk food.

Healthy Food: Fruits and vegetables, high-fiber grains, 100% fruit juices, lean meat, chicken, fish, egg whites, low-fat sour cream, low-fat cheese, low-fat yogurt, tofu-soy products, fruit-based popsicles, etc.

Junk Food: Foods low in nutrition and fiber, high in sugar, starch, salt, and/or fat. Examples: cake; cookies; doughnuts; chips; items made with white flour (many breads, pastas, muffins, and cereals); soda pop; candy; ice cream; sherbet; and sugar-based popsicles. Junk food is usually high in calories and low in nutrition, causing your body to crave more, causing weight gain. Other unhealthy foods include high-fat meats, egg yolks, and high-fat dairy products. Most “fast food” is unhealthy, e.g., cheeseburgers, french fries, etc.

THOUGHT TREAT (Healthy Food). Have everyone bring their favorite healthy food to share.
