ACTIVITY DAYS PLANNER

Beauty Shop Hair Talk (learn to care for and style hair) Three Ways to Learn to Care For and Style Your Hair:
1. Gather several hairstyle magazines to find the latest styles. Find hairstyles that look nice with the shape of your face.

2. Ask several stylish young women to talk to your group about how to care for and style hair and use hair accessories. Suggestion: Hair Styling Tips and Tricks for Girls, by American Girl Library.
3. Print and review the Beauty Shop Hair Talk ideas.
4. Print and review the Find Your Face Shape information to determine how to style your hair to balance your face shape. Pull your hair back to and compare your face shape with these seven shapes.
5. Print and place the My Best Hairstyles! handout on top of the face-shape handout, and trace your face shape into the four squares. Then draw four of your best hairstyles around your face shape.

THOUGHT TREAT (Potato Salad Face with Carrot Curls). Serve potato salad on a large plate (formed into an oval face shape). Use a potato peeler to make carrot curls (to look like hair), and use other veggies to create face (cucumber eyes, olive nose, and tomato lips).
