Sunbeam Lesson 38:
I Can Be Reverent

Click the following to find Sunbeam Lesson 38 – I Can Be Reverent in the Primary 1 manual.

OBJECTIVE: Encourage children to show love for Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ by being reverent.

CRAFT ACTIVITY – Reverent at Home & Church – Reverence Raccoon Storybook

Print or copy activities. With this storybook, children can learn ways to be reverent and happy at home and church by acting out the reverent actions in the story. To make, staple pages together.

THOUGHT TREAT:  Marshmallow raccoon eyes. Line a cookie sheet with waxed paper. Place two large marshmallows for each child on a tray. Melt marshmallows until light brown. Remove from oven and place a small gumdrop or round candy piece in the center for the eye. Tell children that these look like the eyes of a reverent raccoon.  He can see each one of you being reverent.

SINGING for Sunbeam Lesson 38 – I Can Be Reverent: Sing “Fun to Do” (Children’s Songbook, 253). For fun visuals, go to the same song in the Super Little Singers book (34) or CD-ROM. Children can use the action cards to get started, then sing, “Being Reverent Is Fun To Do.” Then they can show ways to be reverent (e.g., folding arms, closing eyes, sitting quietly, listening, and raising their hand before speaking).
