Little LESSON LIFESAVER Activity
I Can Help at Church – Bishop Helps Me (bishop brag bag)
OBJECTIVE: Help children understand that every member of the ward or branch can help at church.
CRAFT ACTIVITY – The Bishop Helps Me – Bishop Brag Bag
1. Print or copy the activity. After cutting out, enclose label and pictures in the bag as shown. Make an extra bag for the bishop.
2. Talk about the brag cards, telling how the bishop helps at church.
3. Also, slip treats into the bag (see below).
4. Plan ahead that after the lesson activity, children can go see the bishop in his office to deliver the Bishop brag bag and present the ideas to him personally.
IDEAS IN BAG (BISHOP): Visits the sick, Accepts your tithing, Receives revelation, Teaches the gospel, Gives blessings, Conducts meetings
THOUGHT TREAT: Any treat, or “Bear-y gurr-ate” brag bag goodies. Place miniature bear cookies or cinnamon or gummy bear candies in Bishop brag bag.
SING “When We’re Helping” and “Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam” (Children’s Songbook, 198, 60).
