For children ages 4-7
OBJECTIVE: The lesson helps children understand that keeping the Sabbath day holy is one way to show gratitude for the blessings we receive from Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Review the enrichment activity 1 (p. 242) in the manual for which the following activity illustrates.

TO PURCHASE ACTIVITY: Copy or print the pattern from Sunday Savers: Doctrine and Covenants-Church History book or CD-ROM.
ACTIVITY: Sabbath-day Decisions Drama-or-draw
Help children learn the difference between right and wrong Sabbath Day activities.
DECISION DRAMA-OR-DRAW: Children can play this game by dividing into teams, with opposing teams sitting across from one another. Children take turns drawing a wordstrip from a jar and reading it silently.
OPTION 1—DRAMA: Act out the activity.
OPTION 2—DRAW: Draw activity on paper or the chalkboard for all to see.
The first team to guess the activity and vote “yes” (good Sabbath activity) or vote “no” (not a good Sabbath activity) wins a point for their team. Play by voting on all wordstrips or until time runs out.
TO MAKE: Print or copy, color, and cut out the label and wordstrips for the activity. Mount label on a jar and place wordstrips inside.
THOUGHT TREAT (when appropriate): Sabbath-day Hugs and Kisses. Purchase some Hershey’s Hugs and Kisses chocolate candies. As you play the game (above), give out candies. Tell children that we show love (hugs/kisses) to Heavenly Father as we keep the Sabbath day holy.
