SCRIPTURES - Activity: Scattered Scriptures Mix-n-Match, Doctrine and Covenants Primary Lesson 19: The Saints Are Taught to Recognize Good and Evil, Sunday Savers book and CD-ROM, GospelGrabBag.comACTIVITY: Scattered Scriptures Mix-n-Match

Increase a youth’s love for the scriptures by mixing and matching these scriptures. But watch out! These dual-match cards may fool you (e.g., the “if ye love me” card could also match with the “. . . care for the soul, and for the life of the soul” card, but it doesn’t. It matches with the “keep my commandments” card).
TO MATCH CARDS: Mix up cards in two separate piles facedown on the table or floor as follows.
Card Pile 1: Place cards with capitol letters on the left.
Card Pile 2: Place other cards on the right.
• Take turns picking up two cards (one from each pile) to make a scripture match.
• Read matched cards aloud.
• If playing in teams, the team with the most matches wins.

THOUGHT TREAT (when appropriate): Standard Works Bite-size Cookies. Stack four graham crackers or wafer-type cookies on top of each other with frosting (for display only). The four cookies represent the four standard works. Tell youth that eating the stack all at once would be hard. However if you were to eat it a bite at a time, it would be easy . . . just like reading the scriptures a verse at a time would be easy. Give children one cookie with frosting or a stack of graham cracker to break into four pieces to frost and eat a bite-at-a-time.
