DESCRIPTION: Help children really VALUE their singing as the bishop or dad really VALUES his tie. Make a tie or purchase a used tie for children to cut an inch or more of the tie, depending on how well they sing. A singing practice they will never forget. You could even invite the bishop or a dad to witness this stressful event.

To Make: Ahead of time, provide the bishop (or dad) with an old tie to wear as he visits singing time.
MAKE A TIE: With scraps of fabric, you could make a tie (perhaps one in a seasonal print, e.g., Valentine’s Day Tie, Christmas Tie, or Easter Tie).

To Use: Tell children that depending on how well they sing, they can cut an inch or more off the bishop’s (dad’s) tie. Children really get involved and sing well for this activity. Cut the tie clear up to the knot. Then, in front of the children, ask the bishop to wear the tie to the rest of the meetings, telling others how well the children sang.
