ACTIVITY DAYS PLANNER

Sparkle and Shine (create a job jar, and learn how to clean)
1. Obtain a Sparkle and Shine Job Jar label, the lid pattern, and job wordstrips. Also obtain fabric, cotton, and glue (see #3 below).
2. Make a job jar (shown) and draw jobs out each day to compete all tasks. To Make Jar: Find a canning jar with a lid. Cut out a round piece of fabric 7 1/4 inches in diameter (size of pattern). Obtain cotton balls and a hot glue gun. Follow pattern instructions to make lid. Then glue label on bottle, and cut up job wordstrips to place inside.
3. Learn how to sparkle and shine. Ask a cleaning expert to teach you how to do the jobs found on the job wordstrips, as well as other jobs.
4. Have cleaning supplies ready at home or to take to someone’s home whom you’ll be serving. Go from job to job to complete five or more tough tasks such as cleaning the toilet, washing windows, using a broom to clear cobwebs, cleaning out a drawer, washing a window, dusting, cleaning the sink or faucet with an old toothbrush, ironing a shirt, or using an SOS pad or a sponge with a scouring pad attached.
5. As you work, sing, “This little home of mine, I’m going to let it shine” (words on jar label) to the music “This Little Light of Mine.”

THOUGHT TREAT (Sparkling Treat). Make some sparkling Jell-O by adding Sprite or 7-up instead of water. Or serve a sparkling drink. Talk about how nice it is when your home is sparkling and clean—it makes it look brand new!
