SUNBEAM – POSTER
Find Sunbeam Lesson 32 Primary 1 Manual – I Am Thankful for Food and Clothing.
OBJECTIVE: Help children feel and express gratitude for food and clothing.
POSTER ACTIVITY – I’m thankful for food and clothes!
1. Print or copy the activity poster to color.
2. Talk about the poster, saying, “I’m thankful for food and clothes!” Help children take turns coming up to touch visuals and answer questions as follows: (1) Starting with the egg on the left, have children answer the question “Do you know where I come from?” Then point to the image on the right that matches: the chicken. (2) Next point to the images on the right, starting with the bee. Ask children the question, “Do you know what I provide?” Then have children find the image on the left that matches: honey.
3. Talk about the Home Activity: “Help me match up food and clothing to know where they came from. Let’s talk about how we use plants and animals for food and clothing.”
THOUGHT TREAT: Clothing cookies. Cut sugar cookie dough into clothing shapes, then bake and frost. Tell about the flour and sugar you used to make the cookies. Talk about the clothing we wear. Explain how thankful we should be for both our food and clothing.
SINGING for Sunbeam Lesson 32 – I Am Thankful for Food and Clothing: Sing “Popcorn Popping” (Children’s Songbook, 242) and “Old McDonald.”
