LITTLE LESSON LIFESAVER Activity:
We are blessed when we follow the prophet!
Noah’s Family Obeys (puppet show medallion)
Ages 2-5 Lesson (below*)
OBJECTIVE: Tell children that a prophet is called by God to speak for Him. If we listen to the prophet, we can receive God’s words or revelations for us. The prophets testify of Jesus Christ and teach us His gospel. The prophet’s words are found in the scriptures, and we can listen to them at General Conference and read their talks in the Church magazines, such as the Friend.
CRAFT ACTIVITY – Following the Prophet – Noah’s Family Obeys Puppet Show Medallion
1. Print or copy the activity. Fanfold the ark and glue together on the left and right sides 1/4–inch (leaving pocket open). Punch holes in ark and family where indicated. Tie a 10-inch string between the bottom of the ark and Noah’s family. Tie a 25-inch piece of yarn or string on the sides of the ark to the hang puppet show as a medallion around the child’s neck. The child can place the family in the ark pocket.
2. Children can tell how God asked the prophet Noah to build an ark to save his family from the flood. Because his family listened to the prophet Noah and obeyed, they were saved.
THOUGHT TREAT: Prophet pretzels. Give children a pretzel for each prophet they can name: Noah, Moses, Joseph Smith, Samuel, or others.
