Tithing Bills Match Game
OBJECTIVE: Help strengthen a child’s desire to pay their tithing, knowing how it serves others and brings personal blessings.
ACTIVITY: Tithing Bills Match Game
Play this matching game to learn ways Heavenly Father spends our tithes and how we are blessed for paying a full tithe.
TO MAKE Print or copy, color, and cut out two sets of activity cards on cardstock paper. Use several sets to play.
THOUGHT TREAT: Small Apple (cut into 10 parts – 10%). Place 10 apple pieces in a bag for each child to “chew” and learn to “choose” the right by paying 1/10th of their earnings to the Lord for tithing. Each can take one piece (1/10th) out to place on a plate to give the bishop the day of your lesson as they pick up tithing envelopes. You could even have the bishop or his counselor visit to bring the envelopes and receive the apple pieces. Explain that years ago families used to pay their tithing by collecting, e.g., 10 apples, eggs, potatoes, or animals and take the nicest ones to the bishop’s storehouse. Today we pay with money.
